Today's post has been rescheduled, because yesterday, I found out something very shocking.
Wendy's, from A Cupcake and a Latte, blog was gone.
Some of you might've known what had happened, but I didn't. I couldn't find her Twitter account, her Goodreads account (okay, call me a stalker, but hey! I stalk tons of blogs!), or anything. And maybe I was being a little bit like my mother by getting worried, so I Tweeted:

And then Brenna, from Esther's Ever After, replied and said that Wendy was no longer blogging. She also told me that it was a decision Wendy felt was best for herself.
I shall keep some of my suspicions to myself, but let me get to the point of this post, I had an idea of having this sort of 'tour' to remember Wendy, who has been around in the blogosphere (I hope I spelled that correctly) for such a long time. It's really sad to see her go, and I'd like to do something special for her, since she was one of the most popular (and well-loved) bloggers around!
For those interested in this 'tour', here's what I'd like you to do: on July 31, 2012, write a post about the things you liked about Wendy and/or her blog. If you can't post it on this date, don't worry! Feel free to post it any time after the selected date. Then, I'll add a Linky thing-y to my blog post and y'all can link everyone up! Hopefully, Wendy will see this and it'll cheer up her day and know that everyone misses her.
I'm not trying to convince Wendy to come back and restart her blog, because if this decision to stop was her decision alone, and I'm not going to try to change it. We've just lost one of our most adored bloggers, and, like I said above, I just want to do something special for her.

What! After reading this I tried checking her blog and you're right!--She's not there! And neither on Goodreads. I wonder what led up to it? I loved her posts. :(((( TT.TT

DeleteI noticed the blog was gone too! But I thought it was my browser (being at work and all). I wished she had at least said goodbye? I just started following her recently and already missed her.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely send another reminder on July 31st! just to make sure we don't forget. With so many books and blogs to read my mind sometimes...
I do agree that if she said goodbye, maybe thing's wouldn't have been so confusing for us. :/

ReplyDeleteYeah this sucks. Thankfully I found your blog post through a google search. I was just doing an updated link list for my blog (been redesigning it and just now putting the links in, so when I went to grab her button, saw the blog had been removed.) Google wasnt pulling up anything at first, so checked GR and couldn't find anything, finally GR pulled up your post. What a shame.

ReplyDelete:O Wendy was an amazing blogger! It's kind of shocking that you don't know her blog since it was pretty popular, but maybe she'll come back unexpectedly and you can get to know her then? That would be pretty awesome even though it's highly unlikely...
Deletebummer.. I heard of the drama that she was involved in and everyone supported her.. It's just sad she quit blogging.. I didn't know it was that serious. She seemed like she was taking it in stride. bummer, all her followers would be sad.

ReplyDeleteI noticed that her blog was gone and I thought maybe Google was messing up or something, and then I tried a couple days in a row and still nothing. I was wondering what happened, but I'm glad I know for sure now.
